Community Resources
and Support
Offers specialized services that assist program participants to live
and work in the community. Training areas include employment, vocational education,
behavior management strategies and wellness education, paid work, social and recreational
activities, later life planning, sensory development and member-driven mental health

CALOR, a
Division of Anixter Center
Bilingual professional staff provides family-focused and culturally
sensitive rehabilitation assistance to people with disabilities in the Latino community,
including individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS. Programs include case management,
mental health services, support groups, prevention education, job placement and substance

Chicago Hearing
Society, a Division of Anixter Center
Provides a wide range of services for children and adults who are
deaf, hard of hearing or hearing, including interpreter referral services, sign language
classes, preschool hearing and vision screening, hearing aid bank, audiology clinic,
summer day camp and youth programs, free TTY distribution, advocacy, information
referrals and assistance for people who are deaf or hard of hearing who are victims of
violent crimes.
