Anixter Center is an experienced leader in helping those with disabilities live, learn, work and play in the community.

Each year Anixter Center and its division—Chicago Hearing Society (CHS)—help more than 6,000 children, teens and adults by providing employment, residential, educational, health and social/recreational services. Each program focuses on helping our clients become inovlved in the community. What makes us truly unique are the array of services we offer plus our ability to help people at every stage of life—children, teens, young adults and older adults.

Our clients span the age spectrum, from birth to 90+, and represent all racial and ethnic backgrounds. Most have a least one disability and many have more than one. While we serve people of all income levels, the vast majority of our clients have incomes significantly below the poverty level.

As the parent organization, Anixter Center itself provides a broad range of programs for those who have physical, developmental, cognitive, psychiatric or sensory disabilities. These Anixter Center programs include: a literacy program for adults with disabilities; 24-hour supervised residential homes; substance use disorder programs for those who are deaf; and employment programs to help people with disabilities find jobs.

We offer many more programs that support people with disabilities in a variety of ways.
