CHICAGO (October 30, 2003) – Anixter Center presented the Distinguished Service Award to Judge Kathleen Pantle at the human service agency’s 24th Annual Awards Luncheon on October 24 at Hilton Chicago and Towers. Judge Pantle has shown a commitment to Anixter Center ’s Roberta Bachmann Lewis Factory Program by channeling dozens of youths through the justice system to the program. The Factory Program provides paid work, vocational training and education to high school students.
“Judge Pantle has helped brighten the future of hundreds of students,” Anixter Center Factory Program Manager Patricia Martin said. “Her compassion provides opportunities for youths who are running out of options.”
The luncheon honored individuals and businesses that have made a positive impact on people with disabilities in the Chicago area. Anixter Center annually serves 4,000 people with disabilities through 70 programs at 35 locations.
“We judges should be thanking you for the Factory Program,” Pantle said. “Because of your commitment to our troubled youth, teens have a chance to succeed.”
