CHICAGO (October 30, 2003) – Anixter Center presented the Anixter Team/Program Participant Award to chef/manager Rick Pecirno of Edgebrook, along with his staff, at the human service agency’s 24th Annual Awards Luncheon on October 24 at Hilton Chicago and Towers. Pecirno supervises the Center Court Grille at the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) building in Schaumburg. The Grille provides high-quality food service while offering young adults with disabilities the opportunity to gain vocational skills in a supported environment. The current group of students at the Grille have enhanced operations under Pecirno’s tutelage.
“Our staff and clients have excelled in providing high-quality service to IDOT,” Anixter Center Director of Transition Services Helene Levine said.
The luncheon honored individuals and businesses that have made a positive impact on people with disabilities in the Chicago area. Anixter Center annually serves 4,000 people with disabilities through 70 programs at 35 locations.
“They are a great team, and the IDOT Grille customers appreciate the quality of our services,” Pecirno said.
