EVENT Individuals with disabilities and their family members from Illinois will describe how Gov. Blagojevich’s 2005 budget will impact their quality of life.

  • A Springfield, Illinois, family will talk about the high priority it places on the essential services the National Lekotek Center provides that are nearly impossible to receive elsewhere at an affordable cost. Lekotek, a division of Anixter Center , is the country’s central source on toys and play for children with special needs.
  • Parents involved in the Adult Community Transition (ACT) Program in north suburban Chicago will share their thoughts about the value of this innovative program that assists developmentally disabled young adults in making a successful transition to life after high school.
  • Adults with disabilities, involved in a range of programs at Anixter Center ’s primary Chicago location, will talk about the highly-regarded services they receive at Anixter Center and how inadequate funding puts them at risk.
