CHICAGO, IL (July 10, 2006) – MaryMargaret Sharp-Pucci, Ph.D, of Batavia recently was elected chair of the board of directors of Anixter Center, a Chicago area not-for-profit organization whose mission is to assist people with disabilities to live and work successfully in the community. Each year, Anixter Center provides supports and services for more than 5,000 individuals with disabilities through its 35 locations. Anixter Center is a leading provider of high-quality vocational, residential and educational options, substance abuse prevention and treatment, and health care. Sharp-Pucci joined the board of Chicago Hearing Society, a division of Anixter Center, in 1991. She later became a member of Anixter Center’s board of directors in 1997.

Sharp-Pucci is the founder and managing member of Sharp Health Strategies LLC, which provides a line of clinical research and program development services to the health care industry. She is an epidemiologist and senior healthcare analyst with more than 25 years of healthcare experience. Sharp-Pucci ‘s academic background has included research and teaching affiliations with Loyola University Medical Center, The National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, D.C., The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, the University of Virginia Medical College and Boston University.
