PUBLIC POLICY AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
DIRECTOR
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide
leadership in developing and carrying out public policy advocacy and
community development strategies to meet Anixter Center’s program
development and operational goals.
2. Conduct research and
relationship development to procure funding for community based program
innovation, development and growth.
3. Assist in adapting Anixter
Center program operations to changes in public policy and funding
requirements.
4. Recruit, train, and engage Anixter Center’s program
participants, their families, volunteers, staff, donors, and allies, in
community building initiatives and advocacy campaigns to advance Anixter
Center’s mission.
5. Coordinate Anixter Center’s public policy
strategy and action campaigns with allied coalitions.
6. Develop,
maintain and implement databases for coordinating communications to
legislators, and Anixter Center stakeholders.
7. Coordinate the
implementation of publicly funded capital facility improvement projects.
8. Assist in carrying out the quality improvement strategy for Anixter
Center facilities.
9. Carry out special projects and other
assignments as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Five
years experience in public policy advocacy, community development, community
organizing and/or grass roots program development.
- Strong
organizational, planning and leadership development skills
- Excellent
written and oral communications skills
- Experience in maintaining
databases and spreadsheets
- Bachelor degree in public policy or related
field
